Columns Cafe will return Sept. 30

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s culinary arts and hospitality management and tourism students are bringing back the Columns Café and will feature a Parisian style shrimp dinner Thursday, Sept. 30.

Deutser Scholarship honors veteran, TKE fraternity member

NATCHITOCHES – The father of a Northwestern State University graduate created a scholarship in his memory. The Joel David Deutser Memorial Scholarship will be presented annually to a student in any major with a 2.5 or better grade point average with preference given to a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

Brunson, Abney named research award winners

NATCHITOCHES – Dr. Michelle Fazio Brunson, director of graduate programs in early childhood education, and Dr. Lisa Abney, professor of English, were named winners of two Northwestern State University research awards. Brunson is recipient of the Dr. Jean D’Amato Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award. Abney is recipient of the Dr. Mariette Lebreton Louisiana Studies Award.
