Master of Arts in Art
The Department of Fine + Graphic Arts at Northwestern State University is a part of the Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA). Undergraduate students earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art and choose from one of four concentrations: Studio Art, Craft, Graphic Communication, or Interdisciplinary Design.
Students seeking graduate degrees may earn a Master of Arts(MA) in Art through one of two programs: our on-campus, face to face program—which offers assistantships and other financial aid opportunities—and our low-residency online program—which allows working students the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree with limited on campus contact.
Accredited by National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Department of Fine + Graphic Arts emphasize best practices and rigor in its areas of emphasis. Small class sizes give our students plenty of face-to-face time with faculty and peers.
