Sissay Joins Scholars’ as New Chemistry Professor

We are excited to welcome Dr. Adonay Sissay to LSC! Dr. Sissay begins this fall as our new Assistant Professor of Chemistry. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Louisiana State University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern University and A&M College. “I am very excited and humbled to join the Scholar’s College as its newest faculty member this fall,” explains Dr. Sissay. “I will be teaching chemistry and research classes to some of the best and brightest students at the University. I look forward to working with these students, other faculty, and staff to advance the mission, vision, and values of NSU. Go Demons!”

Dr. Sissay joins the Scholars’ College from a position as a postdoctoral researcher at LSU where he was part of a research team simulating electron dynamics and transient absorption in semiconductors and insulators. His research interests include chemical physics, computational chemistry, and solid state chemistry. Welcome to the Scholars’ College, Dr. Sissay!
